HOMESICK DETROIT
While I’m incredibly fortunate to live and indulge in a world-class city like Chicago, I can’t help but feel the anxiety and longing from time to time for a Detroit that is on the move while I’m missing it! Sometimes it’s almost harder hearing second-hand from family and friends about “the movement”, but I’m grateful for it. I have to be! How else can I stay engaged?
Facebook and Twitter have offered a platform for pats and ex-pats alike to connect and stay rooted to the scene, and to those making things happen in Motown. To my Twitter network, I am GRATEFUL for the wealth of information you flood me with, daily. I will use Homesick Detroit to post/re-post some of the unique, beautiful, and so distinctly Detroit culture/news that I come across.
While I’ve been able to establish a network in Detroit, the fact of the matter is that there are LOADS of “us” here in Chicago and across the globe. Through Homesick Detroit, I hope to meet other Detroiters and tell their stories.
Stay tuned to Homesick Detroit under the “categories” drop down menu. From there, I hope to present audio, video, and stories from the masses that find ourselves out of Detroit and into the wild.
